EXPRESSION OF INTEREST - CARVE ON FACTORY TOUR

15th May from 10am

Kilcullen Industrial Estate, Naas Rd, Kilcullenbridge, Kilcullen, Co. Kildare

Members of the craft and creative cluster are invited to a factory tour of CarveOn on 15th May.

Join us in Kilcullen for a workshop tour full of creatives hand-making personalised accessories from premium natural materials, at scale.

Through this facilitated tour with the Carve On team, you’ll see how they have scaled a craft business to a lean production facility, and a finely tuned e-commerce operation, pushing the boundaries of technology in both craft and distribution.

CarveOn have been a LEO Kildare client since 2011, handcrafting a range of wood and leather tech accessories in a humble garden shed. By 2013, the business moved into a former milking-parlour on a farm in Kill.

By 2016, with a loyal customer base of clients worldwide and growing bulk orders from corporate clients, it was time for a bigger space and a bigger team.

Gary and Alan found an old 15,000 ft2 metalwork factory which had been unused for over eight years in Kilcullen. It was a fixer-upper but had the perfect amount of character!

This new workshop was designed to encourage and celebrate creativity, innovation, tradition, and friendship. It's home to old and new manufacturing equipment including industrial sewing machines, leather splitters, embossing presses, laser engravers, a photography studio, offices, meeting rooms, and creative spaces.

With the implementation of lean thinking combined with digital systems, the team at Carve On are an incredible example of the scalability and export potential of creative businesses.

Please note, given the commercial sensitivity of business site visits, businesses in the same sector are asked not to apply.

In addition, this site visit is limited to 15 participants only.

Therefore, expressions of interest are sought on or before 3rd May at 12 noon.

Confirmation of a place will be given on or before 7th May.
